Trey Knowles’ Wisdom Calls is a reflective song inspired by Proverbs 1:20–33, where wisdom is personified as a woman crying out in the streets, marketplaces, and city gates. Her message is neither hidden nor reserved for a chosen few. She calls openly to everyone willing to listen, warning people to turn from foolishness before the consequences of their decisions overtake them.
The song asks listeners to examine the direction of their lives and consider which voices they follow. Every day presents a choice between wisdom and foolishness, understanding and ignorance, righteousness and rebellion. Wisdom offers guidance, correction, protection, and peace, yet pride, temptation, distraction, and temporary pleasure can cause people to reject her.
